AUTO CRIMES, STREET CRIMES & ITS RELATIONSHIP TO WHITE COLLAR CRIMES
Jarek Pyrzanowski, Lieutenant at New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice
This course will explore various forms of white-collar crimes perpetrated by street gangs, including but not limited to automobile finance fraud, where gangs deceive lenders into providing loans for vehicles, they have no intention of paying back. We will delve into identity theft, a crime that not only victimizes individuals but can also impact entire financial institutions, insurance companies and other businesses.Jarek Pyrzanowski is an experienced investigator specializing in motor vehicle-related crimes, including forensic vehicle identification, vehicle theft, illegal street racing, insurance fraud, and vehicle identification number (VIN) alterations. Proven track record in successfully handling complex, long-term investigations into organized auto theft rings, vehicle exportation, identity theft, loan fraud, and bank fraud. Skilled in investigating fraudulent vehicle damage claims involving repair shops, body shops, and tow companies.

THE USE OF SYNTHETIC IDENTIES & ENTITIES TO COMMIT INSURANCE FRAUD
Steve Lenderman, CFE, Head of Fraud Prevention, Isolved
We will review synthetic identities and how they are being used in both the consumer and commercial insurance industry. We will discuss the concept of synthetic entities, also known as shell and shelf companies. How they are being used in combination with synthetic identities to commit insurance fraud across your products. Furthermore, will review best practices from the banking sector that can be deployed to prevent losses, look at an actual fraud case to illustrate what the fraud scheme looks like and how to do it.
Steve Lenderman has been working in the financial crimes sector for over 25 years and is currently the Head of Fraud Solutions North America at Quantexa. At Quantexa he is the fraud subject matter expert and assists future and current clients with their fraud prevention needs using artificial intelligence to fight fraud, financial crimes, and regulatory compliance by uncovering the relationships and entities behind the activity.
